The narrator introduces Elena McMahon, estranged from a life of celebrity fundraisers and from her powerful West Coast husband, Wynn Janklow, whom she has left, taking Catherine, her daughter, to become a reporter for The Washington Post. Suddenly walking off the 1984 campaign, she finds herself boarding a plane for Florida to see her father, Dick McMahon. She becomes embroiled in her Dick's business though "she had trained herself since childhood not to have any interest in what he was doing." It is from this moment that she is caught up in something much larger than she could have imagined, something that includes Ambassador-at-Large Treat Austin Morrison and Alexander Brokaw, the ambassador to an unnamed Caribbean island. Into this startling vision of conspiracies, arms dealing, and assassinations, Didion makes connections among Dallas, Iran-Contra, and Castro, and points up how "spectral companies with high-concept names tended to interlock." My dogs favorite toy so far in two years

I use this with my medium sized dog. These are large for him but that's what I want so I don't ever have to think about them being too small or a swallow hazard. He has been through A LOT OF TOYS in the last couple years, but nothing, NOTHING has he loved as much as these.
His favorite used to be squeaker balls. Then his favorite was crackle balls. But he will gladly ignore both for this one. I don't know if it's the bacon flavor or what, but he go nuts for it.

Works well, tough
Held the bully stick firmly for my crazy aggressive pit bull lab mix. It's very heavy though. When she starts throwing it around you can really hear it. She also hasn't destroyed it. Worth the money.

It absolutely holds a bully or collagen sticks in place!
This actually works! I was skeptical that it could hold a treat but it does hold my Aussies collagen sticks in place so he doesn’t just try to swallow them. It is pretty heavy too.

Solid Build, But Not German Shepherd-Proof
I bought this bully stick holder for my German Shepherd, who is an aggressive chewer and has a talent for demolishing toys in minutes. The design is sturdy, and the material feels genuinely heavy-duty — no issues with cracks or breakage so far.
However, the biggest problem I’ve run into is that the bully stick doesn’t always stay securely in place. My dog is strong and smart, and within a few minutes, he can twist or yank the stick loose and start chomping on the whole thing, which defeats the safety purpose. I’ve tried adjusting how I insert the stick, but it doesn’t always hold firm, especially with thinner bully sticks.
That said, it does work better with thicker, straight sticks, so I’d recommend it if your pup isn’t quite as determined (or stubborn!) as mine. I still use it under supervision, and it slows him down a bit, but I was hoping for a more secure grip.
Great idea and solid quality — just wish it was more GSD-proof.
