Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture 2017/18 [75cl] Italy

The vineyards belonging to this estate are superb; low-trained and planted on the volcanic soils of the slopes of Mount Vulture at altitudes of up to 800 metres above sea level. On arrival at the winery the grapes were destemmed and gently crushed then the must fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at temperatures up to 30-32°C. Frequent, gentle pumping over took place during fermentation and maceration which lasted approximately 30 days. Judicious oak influence softened the naturally high tannins after which the wine remained in tank until bottling

89 Points Wine Spectator 2016 Well-knit and fresh, with dusty tannins and ground spice layered with flavors of crushed mulberry, mocha, bergamot and herbes de Provence. Silky in texture and appealing, this is lightly juicy through to the expressive finish. Drink now through 2021. 15,000 cases made. –AN

Score: 92 points. Value: Fantastic. Ralph Kyte-Powell. The Age Epicure. 2012 vintage: Bored with Aussie reds? Go to Italy’s south to have your senses challenged. This example has lush stewed plum and cherry aromas with hints of liquorice strap and spice. The smooth palate is juicy and complete with rich panforte flavours, good depth and soft tannins. Ageing? Drink over two years.

Rated : 91 Points Tasted : Dec 12 Alcohol : 13.5% Drink : 2013 – 2020. Gary Walsh, The Winefront. What’s often the key thing with these sorts of Southern Italian wines, is that you not only get value, but something quite different to what we make locally. Anyway, it’s the usual suspects again – violet, pepper, raw meat, some licorice, dark cherry in a medium bodied frame. Peppery flavours, pretty dry and chewy, though has slight slippery/glossy feel. Spice and dried herbs come through on the marginally ashy finish. Interesting as ever.

The Dog LOVES IT!
I bought this for my ex-wife's Pitbull. He is an aggressive chewer and usually destroys any toy I buy him. But not this one! The ball is small enough and pliable that it gives when he chomps on it. He loves this ball and seems to be his favorite toy. Thank you for making a product that he likes and can't destroy!

My Golden Retriever’s favorite
We’ve owned lots of toys and balls. This specific version (in blue) has been her absolute favorite. She’s about 72lbs and chews on this thing regularly with no visible damage. We actually own about 6 of them because they have a tendency to go missing underneath furniture and in the yard. We have two of the orange colored ones but she doesn’t like those nearly as much which I assume is because the blue is easier to see in the grass. Other than that…They bounce really well and also whistle a little when you throw them hard enough. I hope they never stop making these.

doesn't whistle as loud as other chuckit balls I've seen, but a good ball.
makes some noise, but I've seen (and played with) others at the dog park that whistle much louder than the 1 I got. all Chuckit balls... so, just this one I'm betting. but it flys good and the dog loves to chase it. he chews it a fair bit as well and the ball has not taken much damage from him (lab mix) or others that have had a go at it. I'll likely buy another at some point ... just wish it was a little louder when flying.

Blue ball, my dog likes blue.
Just a ball right? Evidently not! My dog won’t chase an orange chuck it ball or the glow in the dark ball- only the blue one 🤷🏼‍♀️
