The Air Jordan 1 Retro High '85 OG Bred (2025) reawakens sneaker history with the legendary black-and-varsity-red colorway that defined an era. Originally released in 1985 and forever tied to a rebellious spirit and NBA notoriety, this 40th-anniversary edition honors the silhouette that started it all while reintroducing the original vibe with meticulous craftsmanship. For 2025, Jordan Brand delivers a faithful homage that’s built to withstand the test of time, not just in style but in substance. What makes this release stand apart - Authentic OG feel with modern refinements: A slightly taller silhouette paired with a larger, sleeker Swoosh brings the 1985 look into today’s sneaker language, delivering a true-to-era presence with improved silhouette balance. - Premium materials that elevate the iconic design: A black leather base is contrasted by varsity red overlays, all anchored by a crisp white midsole. The leather finish focuses on durability and a premium touch that ages gracefully. - Thoughtful details for collectors: A nostalgic hangtag, an extra set of laces, and packaging in an original-style box complete the retro experience and make this pair a standout in any collection. - Limited, highly coveted drop: Released February 14, 2025 during NBA All-Star Weekend, with a global allocation of only 10,000 pairs, making this one of the rarest Jordan 1 drops in recent memory. - Classic color blocking, modern execution: The timeless black, varsity red, and white palette remains instantly recognizable, while the updated construction preserves the original’s bold statement. Key features at a glance - Upper: Premium black leather with varsity red overlays for that signature contrast - Swoosh: Larger, sleeker profile compared to recent retros - Silhouette: Slightly taller high-cut for that authentic OG presence - Midsole/outsole: White midsole with a durable rubber outsole for everyday wear - Extras: Two additional laces, nostalgic hangtag, and original-style packaging to complete the retro vibe - Availability: Limited to 10,000 pairs worldwide - Retail: $250 - Release context: Dropped during NBA All-Star Weekend 2025, underscoring its collector appeal Who this is for - Sneakerheads and Jordan collectors seeking a definitive OG-inspired Jordan 1 with a precise 1985 aesthetic - Fans who value archival accuracy, premium materials, and a package that mirrors the original release - Everyday wearers who want a bold, instantly recognizable sneaker that pairs with a wide range of outfits—from athleisure to denim and tailored streetwear - Investors and display-first collectors who prize rarity and a historically significant colorway Use cases and styling ideas - Everyday rotation: Pair with black jeans, a white tee, and a red-accented outer layer to echo the classic color blocking - Collector showcase: Preserve the original-style box and hangtag as part of a display for a true 1980s Jordan moment - Special occasions: Let the high-cut silhouette and vivid red pop elevate casual-court-inspired fits during events or meetups - Conversation piece: The “banned by the NBA” backstory adds narrative value to any outfit, making this more than just footwear Care and maintenance tips - Keep the leather clean with a soft, damp cloth and a neutral cleaner suitable for premium leather - Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve color and finish - Use shoe trees to maintain the shape, especially given the slightly taller profile Why this matters in a crowded market This release doesn’t just reissue a favorite colorway; it rehabilitates the 1985 silhouette with deliberate, authentic touches that hardcore fans and new collectors will notice. The combination of the taller OG form, the more pronounced Swoosh, and a faithful color block—along with limited quantity and authentic packaging—creates a collectible that resonates beyond the moment of release. It’s a pair that tells a story: of the game’s history, of fashion’s evolution, and of sneaker culture’s enduring pull. If you’re looking to own a pinnacle Jordan 1 moment—where history, craft, and streetwear collide—the Jordan 1 Retro High '85 OG Bred (2025) delivers a definitive statement. A rare, precisely executed homage to an iconic era, designed for those who understand why this colorway still matters.

A Unique and Incredible Tale
Format: Kindle
This book brilliantly shows what it feels like for me to go through the world neurodivergently. The characters truly resonate. The artistry of the layout and imagery is compelling and once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. What an authentic glimpse into an intense inner world!

Building something wonderful out of the broken pieces
Format: Hardcover
Meg Eden Kuyatt has done it again. I am a big fan of novel in verse, and this author is one reason why. The poetry delivers character, setting, and story in a clear, believable voice. The protagonist, V, is a middle school girl full of feelings, celebrating her difference while fighting for her place in the wonderland of neurotypicals. V introduces herself in vibrant socks that say “I am strange and wonderful.” And with that, we are off. V is reluctantly spending the summer with her grandma Jojo in the pristine white house that has been in her family for generations. History is definitely living here. The house is a character itself (and a metaphor). I love that V’s cousin Cat creates assemblages, an art form I was not familiar with. Cat describes it as taking discarded, broken stuff and turning it into something beautiful (another metaphor). There is a lot going on here and a satisfying resolution brought on by a heaping dose of empathy. Highly recommend for the suggested audience (juvenile fiction, grades 3-7), their teachers, and families with neurodivergence.

Emotionally messy relationships with unreliable narrators
Format: Hardcover
Meg Eden Kuyatt guides us through a beautifully lyrical journey into the life of V, an autistic girl forced to spend the summer with her overbearing grandmother. The story is often more metaphorical than literal, which works well thematically since it revolves around emotionally messy relationships with unreliable narrators, making the details of both the past and present difficult to pin down. Overall, a great read that will be appreciated by both kids and adults looking for mature, nuanced stories about dysfunctional families and the autistic experience.

Format: Hardcover
This was one of my favorite new MG horror books of the year. The story was beautifully told with a strong emotional arc and eerie touches, as well as excellent ND representation. Can't recommend it enough!
