Folk music played 100 percent honest and from the heart, with miles rolling between the tunes, sleeping on the floor and skate boarding across the USA and the UK, while huddling onto the corner of a punk venue and playing acoustic tunes by night... this is the second release by James the Fang (the Pine Hill Haints) from Alabama and Serious Sam Barrett from Leeds in the UK. These two met years ago, while touring, and have struck up a friendship that has grown over time. With Sam's 12 string tuned to open D and Fangs old time Appalachian fiddle, the two produce a unique and haunting sound that can't be found anywhere else.

Great reference textbook.
Format: Paperback
I love the style of the author's writing for this text. It is not too dense, and they provide humor/ a more personal approach. The way the chapters are divided is great for a quick glance. I like that it provides a section devoted to the techniques of each theory and provides different case examples. I initially went back and forth between renting and purchasing. Ultimately, I'm glad that I purchased it because I think it will be a good quick reference guide.

Best textbook I've ever read, LOVE GEHART
Format: eTextbook
I used another Gehart textbook in a different class and I can't say enough how much I love this author. In 6 years of academia I don't think I've actually enjoyed reading a textbook until this. She has a "needs to know" section at the beginning of each chapter so even if I haven't had time to read the entire chapter before when I need to I can read that and have some basis of understanding. She also includes information on the theorists, and even though I always skip that part I know some people really like knowing about that.
I think it is INVALUABLE that each chapter also has a sample case conceptualization and treatment plan template. AS WELL AS exploring the implications for each theory of its strength's and limitation's with working with diverse clients.
My only very minor complaint is the Questions for Personal Reflection and Class Discussion. For several of the chapters it really seems like this was written by someone who hadn't even read the chapter because there were questions asking about something that was very minor or barely mentioned in the chapter.

one of the most helpful counseling books I've found
using this in my master's level counseling class and it's a great resource. I appreciate the way it is written/organized/formatted. It offers some historical background to the theory, describes the theoretical concepts and framework, gives a case example, a sort of worksheet/guide for applying it in practice, and cultural considerations for each chapter/theory.

Great w/ADHD
Format: Paperback
This book was highly recommended to me as graduate intern because I struggle to stay focused. This is an easy “get what you need” book of various modalities and provides you the ability to learn enough about the modalities in addition to applying the modality quick reference format.
Would highly recommend for anyone that gets extremely overwhelmed learning modalities.
