The Tamiya 1/35 German Tiger I Late Version (35146) reproduces the final fully-developed production Tiger I — the Late Version with its steel-rimmed road wheels, simplified commander's cupola, Zimmerit (on early examples), and other refinements introduced from mid-1944 onwards. By the time the Late Tiger entered service, German armoured forces were on the strategic defensive, but the Tiger I's formidable 8.8cm KwK 36 gun and thick armour still made it a fearsome opponent in hull-down defensive positions.
