This Damascus kitchen knife set gives you four matched knives for complete daily kitchen prep. Blade sizes run from 8 inches on the utility knife up to 13 inches on the chef knife. Every handle is shaped from black Wengi wood with a mosaic pin, silver steel pins, and steel bolsters. A tan leather roll is included for organized storage and travel carry. Full tang construction runs through every handle across all four knives.

This is the only 4-piece Damascus kitchen knife set at JW Steel Crafts with Wengi wood handles, mosaic pin detail, and a tan leather roll in this configuration.

The History Behind This Blade

In 19th-century professional kitchens across Europe, a four-knife system became the standard for serious prep work. A long chef knife handled primary cutting. A Santoku covered fast vegetable work. A cleaver took on heavy breakdown. A utility knife finished the detail tasks. No overlap, no redundancy. Damascus steel entered professional kitchen culture through Japanese and Middle Eastern blade traditions — prized for its layered edge retention and distinct surface pattern. The JW Steel Crafts Wengi wood Damascus set brings that same four-blade discipline into every modern kitchen.

What Is Inside the Set

  • Chef Knife: Primary chopping, slicing, and general daily prep, largest blade at 13 inches

  • Santoku Knife: Flat edge for fast vegetable cuts and all-purpose daily prep

  • Cleaver: Heavy chopping, dense cuts, and board transfer work

  • Utility Knife: Detail trimming, portioning, and close control tasks, smallest blade at 8 inches

Four knives. Four distinct roles. The set covers every stage of a full kitchen prep workflow without gaps.

Blade Performance

Every blade is forged from layered Damascus steel in a ladder and wave pattern finish. The layered structure builds consistent edge retention through repeated daily kitchen use. Damascus steel holds a working edge longer than standard stainless under the same prep load. The pattern varies naturally across every blade due to the forging process — no two blades carry an identical finish. Full tang construction runs through every Wengi handle and spreads weight evenly from blade tip to handle base for stable and controlled cutting across all four knives.

Handle Construction

Every handle is shaped from black Wengi wood. Wengi is one of the densest hardwoods available — it does not absorb moisture, does not swell or crack, and holds its dark surface finish through daily kitchen use. Steel bolsters sit between each blade and handle, adding front-end weight for better cutting balance and protecting fingers during heavy prep. Silver steel pins lock every handle firmly to the full tang. A mosaic pin sits at the center of each handle as a decorative detail that is unique to this set across the JW Steel Crafts kitchen lineup.

Leather Roll

The tan leather roll stores all four knives in individual blade slots. It protects edges from contact during storage and travel. Roll it closed for carry between kitchens, catering events, or outdoor cooking setups. Hand wash and dry each knife before rolling for storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the mosaic pin on each handle?

The mosaic pin is a decorative steel pin with an inlaid pattern set into the center of each handle. It is a unique detail on this set not found on other JW Steel Crafts kitchen knife listings.

What does the steel bolster do?

It adds front-end weight for better cutting balance and stops fingers from sliding onto the blade during heavy chopping and slicing tasks.

What is the blade size range across all four knives?

The chef knife is the largest at 13 inches, and the utility knife is the smallest at 8 inches.

Does the set include a leather roll?

Yes. The tan leather roll holds all four knives in individual slots for safe storage and organized travel carry.

Are all four knives full tang?

Yes. The tang runs the full length of every ebony wood handle for strength, balance, and long-term durability across all four knives.

How do I care for Damascus blades?

Hand wash and dry immediately after every use. Apply food-safe mineral oil occasionally. Never put them in a dishwasher, and store them in the leather roll in a dry place between uses.

The series as a whole so far 5/25
Format: Kindle
I read reviews before going into this book and I don't agree with one of the more harsh ones on the main trigger she had. It is stated clearly in the forward and it wasn't as blase as it was made out to be. It definitely is touched on more and hasn't just been brushed off as the series goes I definitely would recommend reading it. It's a good series just be for-warned I like the series as a whole. The characters are awesome I adore the fmc shes cute and adorable but also a badass. Though there are a bunch of holes for her that I feel like just got left out. The guys are interesting and shout out to yall for not making Gage a dragon. I'm tired of the broody ones who don't wanna talk aboit what they are being Dragons. Ki is my favorite You can definitely tell if is written by 2 different people though because the phrasing just doesn't match up and wouldn't be something people that age says. And it flip flops between them. I feel like there's substance without substance. We are 4 books in and we don't really know much back story on literally anyone more than right under surface deep. There are definitely favorite MMCs which is kind of disappointing since some get shoved to the wayside. Specifically both of the best friends. They're basically useless and it's made obvious as the books go on. As well as all the men are ungodly self deprecating. I enjoy the plot line for the most part like I said I enjoy the series its different and refreshing. I do feel like the series is being dragged out though unfortunately. And the latest cliff hanger was just meh. So hopefully the next book is the last one.

Wow!
Format: Kindle
This book was awesome! Seraphina and her family have moved to a new town. Her family is a bit... odd. She grew up learning how to protect herself from people who might hurt her. Bloodshed is a daily occurrence with her brothers and parents during their practice sessions, and it’s all fun and games unless you need to hide a body. Sera’s family is very close, and she’s been homeschooled most of her life. But in this new town she is going to start regular school as a senior at the local high school. Unfortunately, things at her school aren’t all they seem to be. Or perhaps more than they seem to be. Sera has her own demons to deal with, and she’s terrified her new friends will learn about her weird family and other issues and drop her like a rock. It turns out they have their own secrets as well. This story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next one! This book is well written and well edited. The heroine is spunky and has a great heart and wicked sense of humor.

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo

“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”
Format: Kindle
3.5 🌟 This book popped up in my KU recommended reading suggestions and the synopsis sounded like what I was in the mood for. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and ended up really liking it. I love when this happens. The main characters are likeable and I easily found myself rooting for them. There is a mystery element to each of their backstories that I enjoyed watching unfold and can't wait to get more of. Wolf, in particular, has me fixated. Love him. I found this to be an entertaining, addictive read with a plot that moves along at a good pace. It reads so easily I found myself very reluctant to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and the angst is there. A good set up for the next book to come, for sure. My issues with this book....the dialogue feels a bit juvenile at times and there is a repetitive over use of a particular word phrasing that I found myself giving the ole eye-roll to. There are, without a doubt, some pretty cliche moments that gave me a bit of the cringe. I think this could've certainly 100% benefited from more depth regarding the world building. Perhaps the world building was sacrificed to keep the pacing quick? Just a guess. Also, the lack of consistency of character for the FMC was really evident and so she feels quite illogical at times. Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable read that hit the spot well enough for me. That ending certainly has me impatiently pining for book 2!

Interesting take on the genre
Format: Kindle
True rating: 3.25 ⭐️ I enjoyed the fresh take on the genre. The best way I could describe the setting and world is an apocalyptic dystopian version of Farie where vampires, fae, and angles struggle to survive in what is left of the world. It was definitely interesting throwing the academy/hunger games aspect into this world as well. Even though I guessed the final reveal early on in the book, I kept hoping I was wrong, and it would take a surprising turn. While the "plot twists" were a bit predictable to me, I still enjoyed the ride this book took me on. Another downfall for me was the plot holes in the world building... I.E. if society has fallen and the world is in the aftermath of war, how are there trains running around the world? Just to take young adults to the trials to get into the golden city? How is the train maintained, the tracks clear, etc? However, I did enjoy the FMC & MMC and thought they were fleshed out nicely. I also enjoyed the side characters but wish some were developed more like Ashalin (sp?). I do find myself rooting for the MCs to succeed and find happiness together, which is obviously an important aspect for romantasy. Overall, was this an earth-shattering, mind-bending, terrific piece of literature? No. But was it the worst thing I've read this year? Also, no. This book has, to me, the bones of a great read & just needs a bit more to push it from an alright book to a great book. Overall ratings: Plot- 3.5⭐️ World building 3⭐️ Spice 2.5 🌶🌶 Main characters 4 ⭐️ Supporting characters 3.5⭐️
