After establishing himself as a successful graphic designer, Peter began pursuing his fine art career in 1992 on Martha's Vineyard, where he resided year-round for three years. Upon returning to the mainland he co-founded, as Creative Director, a web design and software company based in Bedford, NH. In recent years he has achieved success as an artist with his representation at prestigious galleries in the Boston area, Provincetown and the Monadnock, NH region.

Peter trained in studio art at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (BFA 1987) under artists Jack Coughlin, Lionel Gongora, John Grillo, and Hanlon Davies as well as Robert Cardinal at the Truro Center for the Arts.

"Childhood interests in architecture and archaeology have led me to consider the context of time-worn structures within the New England landscapes. I am fascinated on many levels when coming across a barn or seaside cottage. From an artist’s perspective, I am interested in the nature of the architecture; how it sits within its landscape, color and light. From a personal perspective, I find myself often curious about the story of the building: who built it and why; the many people who have lived or worked in the building; how the landscape may have changed around the structure over the course of years. I find that the curiosity I have about the building intertwines with the creative process in my interpretation of the architecture and landscape in one image."

In some of my work I feel the architecture serves as the sentry for the landscape and in other cases the exact opposite. Because I remove extraneous details from both the landscape and architecture I paint, it is my hope that a viewer will be challenged by the image to let their own curiosity create a story - is the beach cottage long abandoned or just waiting for its inhabitants to return?

I have long been influenced by the works of Andrew and Jamie Wyeth, Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer and Robert Cardinal and their use of light and color to define subject and mood. I typically begin a piece with multiple sketches in either graphite or charcoal to work out the composition. Then I transition to small watercolor or oil studies to allow for experimentation with different color fields and use of light before committing to canvas. I use many layers of paint in my work to allow me to pull the undercolor to the surface and create depth and movement to highlight form and the way light defines a subject." - Peter Batchelder

Best Charging Block Around!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been using this Anker charging block for a bit now, and its great. First off, it’s just really stylish—it has that clean, premium look that blends right in with your other devices, but you can feel it's packed with some serious, heavy-duty tech. Having three ports on one block changes the game completely. You can plug in multiple items at once without losing speed. When you pair this block with a solid high-speed cord, the charging performance is incredible. Just this morning, I hooked up my phone and my monitoring app showed it was pushing an absolute peak of 4,800 mA straight to the battery. It juices everything up incredibly fast without getting hot. If you want something compact, well-built, and professional that just gets the job done every single time, this is the one to get.

Great product!
Bought this as a gift for a friend, and he loves it! It was a great replacement for what he had before, and was such great value! Built well, performs well, is compact, and is perfect for on-the-go use. Great replacement for carrying around multiple blocks for multiple devices. Might have to get one for myself...

All in one heavy duty charging brick
Love that this charger has a metal housing — it feels heavy-duty and well-built in a way most charging bricks don’t. Charges fast, handles a laptop, a phone, and a tablet at the same time without breaking a sweat, and the foldable prongs make it actually travel-friendly. 65W is the sweet spot for daily life: enough to power a MacBook Air or Pro, plus charge two more devices. Pros: • Solid metal build feels premium • 65W is plenty for laptops, tablets, and phones • Three ports (2 USB-C, 1 USB-A) • Foldable prongs for travel • Compact for the wattage Cons: • Heavier than plastic chargers (the trade-off for the build) • Maxing out all three ports splits the wattage, so not everything fast-charges simultaneously Tips: • Use a high-quality USB-C cable to actually hit fast charging speeds • For laptop charging, plug into the top USB-C port for max output • Great single-charger replacement for travel — covers laptop, phone, and tablet in one brick

100% would recommend, FAST and PORTABLE
The Anker 65W 3-Port Fast Compact Foldable USB-C Charger is a really nice charger overall. It has foldable prongs and 3 different ports, which makes it super useful for charging multiple devices at once, especially for college students or travel setups. It’s also really portable and easy to throw into a backpack but hefty in quality. The charging speed is excellent too. I can charge my MacBook from around 30% to 65% in about an hour. It does get a little warm while charging, but it cools down well and has never been an issue for me.
