The last of the "all-home-recordings albums" by The Mountain Goats and the only one about which that claim is true, All Hail West Texas was originally released as a free-standing compact disc on the late, lamented Emperor Jones. That was about a decade ago. The songs were originally transferred from the cassettes onto which they were recorded to 1/4" reels at Tiny Telephone by Alex Newport, who also played in Fudge Tunnel. John got really excited when he realized his tapes were being EQ'd by the guy from Fudge Tunnel. Remastered from those reels, along with 7 unearthed songs from the two surviving contemporaneous cassettes, All Hail West Texas stands as the peak of The Mountain Goats' home recording era, a time people like to refer to as "when John Darnielle had his four-track," except John did not actually use a four-track. He used the condenser mic of a Panasonic boombox and there was no overdubbing. All songs recorded on the day they were written, usually within minutes of the actual composition. Highlights include "Jenny," "Fall of the Star High School Running Back," and "The Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton," a song which has compelled audiences around the globe to yell "Hail Satan," and to mean it. 1. Helped me ace my final!
Format: Paperback
I strongly recommend this study guide to anyone who needs to understand and apply the pathophysiology in a final exam. The original book was the textbook for my pathophysiology course- it is over 1000 pages and overwhelming.
This study guide broke down the important aspects of each chapter into very doable practice questions. The answer guide at the back has perforations - so I tore mine out and it made it so much easier to follow along and study with this guide.
If you are struggling to learn/memorize/understand/apply all the pathophysiology concepts-I strongly suggest using this study guide. It really helped me get through my exam - and I am not a good test taker.
Good luck in your studies!

Helpful for exam preparation
Format: Paperback
This is helpful in getting me ready for exams. I fill it in and then study it with my other notes and resources before exams. The activities can be fun (crossword puzzle) or simple fill in the blank. I think I have found 1 or 2 errors that do not match up to the reading but I find errors in the online questions provided with the textbook as well. Helpful to absorb detailed topics. I appreciate that there are answers in the back also so I can ensure I have found the right answer. Love the section that provides hypothetical patient or family questions where I can take the knowledge and put it in layman's terms so I'm ready to explain the pathophysiology in basic terms when needed.

Important to Know
Format: Paperback
I very much like this study guide. It has helped me study for my exams. Some of my test questions have even come straight from this book. HOWEVER, I do caution anyone who buys this book to double check the answers. I have come across MULTIPLE typos and incorrect answers in the Answer Key. I like the content of this book, but for a professionally printed book, the overall completeness is poor.

Great purchase
Format: Paperback
This was a great addition to the textbook. The textbook was awful in my opinion but this study guide really explained it in a easy to understand and direct way. I love the matching, fill in the blank and most importantly the case studies. Really helps you figure out what you may encounter pathophysiology wise when caring for patients.
