The James Beard Award-winning chef and co-owner of Philadelphia's Zahav restaurant reinterprets the glorious cuisine of Israel for American home kitchens. Ever since he opened Zahav in 2008, chef Michael Solomonov has been turning heads with his original interpretations of modern Israeli cuisine, attracting notice from the New York Times, Bon App tit, ("an utter and total revelation"), and Eater ("Zahav defines Israeli cooking in America").
Zahav showcases the melting-pot cooking of Israel, especially the influences of the Middle East, North Africa, the Mediterranean, and Eastern Europe. Solomonov's food includes little dishes called mezze, such as the restaurant's insanely popular fried cauliflower; a hummus so ethereal that it put Zahav on the culinary map; and a pink lentil soup with lamb meatballs that one critic called "Jerusalem in a bowl." It also includes a majestic dome of Persian wedding rice and a whole roasted lamb shoulder with pomegranate and chickpeas that's a celebration in itself. All Solomonov's dishes are brilliantly adapted to local and seasonal ingredients.

My favorite shoes

I’ve probably purchased like 40 pairs of these shoes or more. By far my favorite white sneaker. I have a large foot so the bigger sizes are appreciated. They’re versatile, literally go with anything and they are true to size. At a certain point they start to show wear and you can’t dress them up, but they last as a regular sneaker for a long time afterwards. I try to nab them on sale when they drop to $50-$70, absolute steal at that price point.

Clean Look, Super Comfortable – Instantly a Favorite

These sneakers are exactly what I was looking for—sleek, minimal, and incredibly comfortable right out of the box. The white leather looks sharp and pairs easily with everything from jeans to chinos, even dressed-down office wear.
What surprised me most was the comfort. The sole is lightweight with just the right amount of cushioning, making them perfect for walking around all day. I’ve worn them on long city days and never felt sore or tired.

Not for all surfaces.

The sneakers look great and are comfortable on flat, smooth surfaces. Warning: The sole is very flexible and not well cushioned so a walk on rough or uneven surfaces can become uncomfortable quickly. Just understand the limitations.

Very useful for any situation outdoors
Style: KIT
Never really considered the value of this type of notebook, until it proved useful. The carry case has a quality feel to it. It is just about the right size to keep in any bag, from range bags to hiking bags. I like the color and that it includes what I would consider “a complete starter kit”. A waterproof notepad doesn’t make sense until you spend hours collecting data for several pew pews and then a strong wind blows the thing off the bench and into a puddle! Trust me, worth every penny.
