Letters from the PacificWe have been terrifically busy these past few days. I wish I could tell you all about it, but I cant; my job and what Im doing here is the most important thing dont forget it. If my letters are full of social activities its only because I cant talk about the other things, and I do wish I could, I still have some bad moments over these G. Is I take care of I doubt if Ill ever get hardened to the army. Id like it better if I could tell it all to you

IÕd like it better if I could tell it all to you two, who are so close to me. I try to see if the army way, that is that men are expendable, if they fall by the wayside itÕs just one of those things. It all started over two guys I got in today. Boy I really thought they were goners. But tonight he was rational and talked to me. Well IÕm glad heÕs going to make it. I could go on and say what IÕm thinking, that is, heÕs going to make it to only fight and perhaps be killed. ItÕs a tough war Mom and Dad, and IÕm sure learning a life time of experiences.Ó
